Security and Surveillance

Systems from some of today's' leading manufacturer's such as Honeywell Video Systems Ultrak and GE-Interlogix, Kalatel combined with Protex Central's experience are providing real-life solutions to some of the most demanding situations.

Several municipalities to monitor traffic conditions on roadways and intersections currently use Ultrak CCTV equipment provided by Protex Central. Linked together by high-speed fiber-optic connections these high-performance CCTV cameras transmit vital images to centralized traffic control points. Images aid traffic managers' decisions in directing traffic lights and dispatching personnel. Other Protex Central solutions have included CCTV cameras and controllers installed in a remote power plant with images beamed via microwave units back to a central plant monitoring and control center. Operators then visually verify the performance of remote controlled boilers. In another application, a large Midwest retailer has installed Kalatel cameras throughout their public parking lot to provide surveillance and security for their customers. Images are stored on large-capacity digital video recorders for quick and easy referencing as the need arises.

Integrating Old and New Technology
